Top Dog Walks: London

Located in the South East of England, the UK capital city of London may be one of the most densley populated cities in the world, however it has a good number of green spaces and woodland trails where your dog can get plenty of enjoyment and exercise. There are historical parks which offer an interesting stroll, and locations which offer views across the city.

Here, we take a look at four of our favourite dog walks in London, which you can enjoy yourselves.


Richmond Park

Based in South West London, Richmond Park is the largest of the capital's eight Royal Parks and the biggest enclosed space in London. The park is home to many deer, and is a National Nature Reserve. When you walk your dog on Richmond Park, there are plenty of opportunities for off-lead fun. The full circuit around the park is 7.35 miles, on the Tamsin Trail, however there are plenty of opportunities to cut this down, if required.

Hampstead Heath

For some of the best views over the city, Hampstead Heath is a fantastic choice for you and your dog to enjoy. If you climb up Parliament Hill, you will enjoy a spectacular view across the London skyline. Hampstead Heath is in the North of the city and can offer a great opportunity for a day out.

Battersea Park

Battersea Park hosts a large range of features for you and your dog to enjoy. The park itself is nice and flat, offering an easy stroll, and has lots of open space for your dog to experience. Along the river, there is a 1km riverside promenade, allowing you to purchase an ice cream or drink to accomany you on the walk.

Victoria Park

London's oldest public park offers a large green space where you and your dog can walk a good distance. There are a couple of cafes to enjoy, and the park holds a number of historic artifacts and features, and has a number of decorative gardens and wilder natural areas.

The many green areas of London offer you the opportunity to leave the stresses of the grey city life behind, to enjoy a special walk with your dog in some excellent surroundings. From heathland and woodland walks to some of London's many parks, the four walks above offer just a glimpse of what the city has to offer.
