Walk
Starting from Surprise View, turn to your right and head along the path from the car park, walking east. Follow the path until it reaches East Chevin Road. Do not cross the road, instead walking beside the road and down the hill past Danefield House before heading in to the left and heading west along the track running parallel to the one you started on.
Follow the path heading west for a mile or so, heading through the woodland.
The lower path will end and you can turn left to climb uphill towards Woodland Farm. Do not go to the farm, instead remain in the woodland. Walk past some large rocks and head east on the path near the stone wall to Yorkgate Quarry.
From Chevin Forest Nature Reserve, continue east back to Surprise View.
