How to get there: From Ambleside, take the A591 towards Windermere. Turn into the car park on the edge of Ambleside, on the left next to the Fisherbeck Hotel.

The Walk
A circular walk through woodland.

Walk
1. From the car park, walk away from the main road. Turn right onto the quieter road here. Follow this road as it heads southward and bears to the left.
2. The path passes through the woodland. Continue on as it heads to the east.
3. At the fork in the path, take the right hand option to follow the path as it heads south. Continue on and it will start to bear to the left, eventually joining onto Holbeck Lane. Turn left onto Holbeck Lane and continue straight on. You will shortly reach a stone path on your left, just before an off-road parking area.
4. When you reach the stone path, turn left onto it and follow it until it reaches another stone path. Turn left onto this one as you reach it. Follow this path until shortly you reach a fork, where you should head to the left option. This path will bear to the left and join onto a path you should recognise from earlier. Turn right here and you will heasd on back through Skelghyll Woods and evenutally back to the car park and start point on the walk.
