How to get there: From Ambleside, follow signs for Coniston on the A593. Continue on the B5343 following signs for Great Langdale. Pass through Chapel Stile and continue on the road for 3-4 miles.

The Walk
A circular walk in the heart of the Lake District with stunning scenery.

Walk
1. From the National Trust car park, walk from the road to the Langdale New Dungeon Ghyll pay & display car park. Walk through this car park and take the footpath in the far corner. Follow the path through the valley. As you near the end of the path turn left onto another track.
2. When you reach the road, turn right for a short distance. Take the footpath through the kissing gate on the right. You will pass through another kissing gate and then follow the track. Cross a stream and pass through another kissing gate. Head through the middle of the field on the track and through another kissing gate. Cross a bridge and then head through a further kissing gate. Follow the track up the hill heading towards the farmhouse, passing it on your right. Pass a stone barn by turning right and follow the path. The path will descend to reach a kissing gate. Stay on this path as it ascends again. Cross a stone bridge over a stream. Pass through a gate and downhill to reach a kissing gate. Then continue heading straight and pass through a gap in the stone wall. Approach the farm house and walk alongside a stream to your right. Head over a small bridge and through a kissing gate keeping the buildings on your left.
3. Pass through the farm gate and head down to the access path. Cross through the middle of the field. Head over a bridge to the road and then to the car park and start point of the walk.
