Location:
Lochearnhead
Postcode:

Parking:

Parking for the Glen Ogle Trail can be found at both ends in Stirlingshire/Perthshire. In Lochearnhead (Perthshire), there are public car parks in the village (some free, some may charge). In Killin (Stirlingshire/Perthshire border), parking is available near the Falls of Dochart or in the village centre. There may also be some very limited lay-by parking at points where the A84/A85 roads run close to the trail in Glen Ogle itself, but these are often for short stops or emergency use only and not recommended for long stays. For a linear walk, consider local bus services (check timetables as services can be infrequent and seasonal) or arrange transport with two cars for this Stirlingshire/Perthshire trail.

Distance:
6.40 miles
Time:
2.80 hours
Difficulty:
Moderate
Terrain:

The terrain of the Glen Ogle Trail in Stirlingshire/Perthshire is predominantly a well-surfaced track (compacted stone/gravel) as it follows an old railway line. It has a generally steady, but noticeable, gradient as it climbs through the glen from either end towards the summit of the pass. Suitable for walkers and cyclists with a reasonable level of fitness. The trail is very exposed to the weather, which can change rapidly in the Scottish mountains. This Stirlingshire/Perthshire trail has good surfaces but is a mountain pass route, so go prepared.
