Paths are primarily natural earth and leaf litter, often uneven, rocky, and rooty in places, particularly within the gorge and alongside the river. The terrain is undulating with moderate climbs and descents (total ascent 61m / 200ft) as you navigate the valley sides. Expect paths to be very muddy and prone to puddles, especially after rain or in wetter seasons. Sturdy, comfortable, and waterproof hiking boots with excellent grip are absolutely essential for both you and your dog.
