There are several free car parks and lay-bys providing access to Sulham Woods in Berkshire. Main car parks are often located off Sulham Hill, Wilderforce Way (Tilehurst), or other minor roads bordering the woods (e.g., near the A329 or towards Pangbourne). These provide good access to the main trails. They can get busy, especially at weekends, for this popular Berkshire woodland. Do not park on verges if car parks are full.

The terrain in Sulham Woods, Berkshire, consists of woodland paths and tracks which can be very uneven, muddy (especially after rain and in winter months, as it's on clay in parts), and feature exposed tree roots and flint stones. There are some significant hills and undulations throughout the woods. Strong, sturdy, waterproof walking boots are highly recommended for navigating this Berkshire woodland comfortably and safely.
