This is a moderately challenging to challenging walk due to its length and the nature of the terrain. The coastal path is often narrow, uneven, and involves significant ascents and descents. The inland sections comprise a mix of grassy field paths (which can be muddy), farm tracks, and some paved sections or quiet roads in and around the outskirts of Bude. - Dog Notes:
This walk is fantastic for dogs, offering a variety of environments to explore. The inland sections provide opportunities for off-lead play (where livestock are not present and under good control). However, due to the significant lengths of clifftop path with sheer drops, it is crucial to keep your dog on a lead along the entire coastal section for their safety. Bude's beaches (Crooklets, Summerleaze) often have seasonal dog restrictions, so always check local signage, but Northcott Mouth and Sandy Mouth are generally more flexible. Bring plenty of water, especially on this longer route.
