Dog-Friendly Pointers:
- Welcome Woofers: Dogs are very welcome throughout Degibna Woods and the wider Penrose Estate.
- Loe Pool – Important Note: Loe Pool is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and can be susceptible to blue-green algae, which is harmful to dogs. Dogs should NOT swim in or drink from Loe Pool. Please keep them on a lead and away from the water's edge when you are close to the Pool itself.
- Loe Bar Caution: If you extend your walk to Loe Bar, be aware that swimming in the sea here is extremely dangerous due to powerful currents and shelving shingle – this applies to humans and dogs.
- Dog Bins: National Trust provides dog waste bins in their car parks and some key areas across the Penrose Estate. Please use them or take your waste home.
- Stick and Ball Fun: The woodland offers plenty of opportunities for classic doggy games!
Lead Etiquette: While there's plenty of space for off-lead fun in the woods, always keep your dog under close and reliable control. Be prepared to put them on a lead if you encounter other walkers, cyclists, horse riders, or any livestock grazing in designated areas of the estate.
