Terrain: A hilltop country park set within mature woodland (Grin Woods) on a limestone hill. Paths are a mix of well-surfaced tracks (compacted stone/gravel, some accessible for rugged pushchairs, especially on lower routes) and many earthier, steeper, uneven, rooty, and rocky woodland trails leading up to Solomon's Temple. The ascent to Solomon's Temple is moderately strenuous with some steep sections and steps. The hilltop around the tower is grassy and can be uneven.

Dog Considerations:
- Leads: Buxton Country Park and Grin Low are very popular. Dogs should be on leads on busy main paths, around the Poole's Cavern visitor centre and cafe, near any children's play areas (if present), and around the immediate base of Solomon's Temple when crowded. In the wider woodlands away from main thoroughfares, well-behaved dogs with good recall *might* have some off-lead time, but always be mindful of other walkers, families, and the SSSI status of some woodland areas (protecting flora). Livestock (sheep) may occasionally graze in fenced areas within or adjacent to the park – leads essential there.
- Water: Limited natural water sources within the main park other than puddles or small seepages. Carry fresh water for your dog, especially as the climb to Solomon's Temple can be thirsty work. Water bowls often at the Poole's Cavern cafe.
- Wildlife: Rich in woodland birds, squirrels, badgers (nocturnal). The limestone woodland has special flora. Ensure dogs do not disturb wildlife or go off-path into sensitive SSSI areas.
- Dog Bins: Usually plentiful around the Poole's Cavern visitor centre, car park, cafe, and at key points along main paths within the Country Park.
- Hazards: Steep, uneven, and slippery paths (especially in woodland when wet or leafy). Some old quarry workings or limestone features may present drops if straying far off marked paths. Can be busy. Solomon's Temple has a viewing platform accessed by an internal spiral staircase (dogs may not be keen or able to ascend).
