The Walk

A walk through Chatsworth Park, Edensor and along the River Derwent.

Map with thanks to Ordnance Survey.

Walk

1 Leave the car park through the gate at the top right-hand corner.

2 Take a left to head alongside the park wall. You will follow it up a hill until it reaches a track which has a gate across it.

3 Take a right and head across the park, following the marked path leading towards the church spire.

4 With the churchyard on your right, follow the path along to reach a small iron gate in a wall, which once through leads to some steps heading down into the village of Edensor. Take a right at the bottom of the steps to walk through the village.

5 Head down and out through the blue gates in front of the village, then cross over the road and join the path which goes over the hill to Chatsworth House.

6 Cross over the drive but stay on your side of the river and take a right to walk alongside the bank of the river (with the river on your left).

7 Once you reach the ruined mill, turn right to walk up the hill and to the gates on the road which lead you to the start point car park./p>
