A circular dog friendly walk around Moses Gate Country Park. This circular walk includes water for your dog to enjoy, and is set in 750 acres of countryside. The park is set in the Croal and Irwell Valleys and runs alongside and over the River Croal.
How to get there
The main entrance to Moses Gate Country Park is on Hall Lane, just off St Peter's Way (A666).
Walk
1 From the car park, follow the path around keeping the lake of water to your left side.
2 Take a right to take the path down through the woodland. Take a left where the path meets the entrance to Farnworth Cemetery, then take the path that leads back up into the woodland.
3 Follow the path to the right and head along to the east until it reaches the River Creal.
4 Turn right to follow the path southward alongside the river.
5 Cross the river at this point, then follow the path back north, keeping the river now to your left. Follow the path as it bends with the river, until you reach the next crossing point to get back over to the other side.
6 Follow the path to the right and back on to the car park and start point of the walk.
