- Terrain:
Terrain: Predominantly flat and exposed. The main walk follows the top of the sea bank, which is typically a grassy or compacted earth path. Paths through the marshland itself (if accessible) will be natural, often very wet, muddy, and uneven. Be aware of ditches and channels within the marsh. Sturdy, comfortable, and waterproof walking boots are absolutely essential.
Accessibility: Due to the uneven nature of the sea bank, potential for deep mud on access paths and within the marsh, and complete exposure, this walk is generally not suitable for those with significant mobility issues or pushchairs beyond the immediate entrance points.

- Dog Notes:
Dog-Friendliness: Kirton Marsh offers a unique and expansive landscape for dog walking, providing vast open spaces and a wild, remote feel. However, it is a highly sensitive coastal and wetland environment. Dogs are very welcome but MUST be kept on a lead at all times, especially when near sensitive bird habitats and grazing livestock (which are almost always present on the marsh). This rule is crucial for protecting the internationally important bird populations and for the safety of grazing animals.
