The Walk

A walk around riverbanks and an old railway line.

Map with thanks to Ordnance Survey.

Walk

1 From the car park, turn left out of here and walk to the junction. Take a left to head toward the railway arch. Heading beneath this, turn left to go up a track reaching a gate. This will bring you onto the old railway line. Continue on this track.

2 The railway track reaches a forestry track, which you should join, taking a left onto it then down toward the farm. You will head through a gate, then onto the road and over a bridge. Head through the next gate and into a field, with the route following along the River North Tyne and back toward the village.

3 When you reach the turn in the road, with the tennis court on the corner, continue on the path alongside the river. Head through a gate and then onto the path to a stone bridge. Head left here, through another gate until you reach the road back up to the start point.
