The Walk
An excellent walk along the river.

Walk
1 Join the footpath from the middle of the lay-by, descending the steep track into the valley. When you reach a path on your left, follow it. This will take you down the valley alongside the Goyt River.
2 Eventually you will get to the dam for the reservoir, cross-over to begin the route back to the car park.
3 At the end of the dam, turn right and follow the lane parallel to the valley ignoring any foot paths that you encounter. The lane will veer left before taking your around two hair-pin turns.
4 After the second hair-pin with the valley behind you, you will reach a farm, take the lane to the right and continue north with the valley to your right. Continue to follow this lane until you reach a church.
5 Just before graveyard of the church, take the footpath to your right. Descend with the path down into the valley. When you reach the river, take the foot path to the left to cross using a foot bridge. Return to the lane and ascend back towards the car park.
