This circular walk through Shortheath Common, a local nature reserve and special area of conservation in the South Downs National Park.
How to get there
Head south-west out of Farham following the A325. Turn off on the B3004 towards Alton. After about 1.6 miles turn left onto Oakhanger Rd (there is a brown sign for the "Chocolate Frog Tearooms"). After 0.6 mile, the carpark will be on your left.
Walk
1 Follow the path through the wooded area as it heads around the top of the fishing lake. Keep following this until you reach point 2.
2 Turn left, following the path as it heads east.
3 keep on the well worn path, it will eventually merge with the path you were originally on before splitting off to the right.
4 The path loops back south. Once you get back to the lake, retrace your steps back to the car.
