A beautiful and generally easy walk, following well-maintained paths that primarily encircle the reservoir. Expect a mix of wide, compacted gravel tracks and paved sections (part of the cycle route). The terrain is mostly flat, with some gentle undulations as the path follows the contours of the valley sides. Paths are generally firm underfoot, but some sections, particularly on grassy verges or less-trodden paths into adjacent woodlands, might become damp or muddy after rain. Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
The main path around Swiss Valley Reservoir is largely wide, flat, and well-surfaced, making it highly accessible for most users, including those with pushchairs, wheelchairs, and less mobile walkers.- Get Directions:

- Dog Notes:
Swiss Valley Reservoir is a very popular destination for dog walkers, offering extensive lakeside trails and a peaceful environment! Dogs are welcome throughout much of the park. However, due to its status as a working reservoir and its importance for wildlife, dogs MUST be kept on a lead at all times on the main paths around the water. This rule is crucial for protecting the birdlife, ensuring water quality, and for the safety and enjoyment of all visitors and cyclists. Always ensure your dog is under control.
