There are several free car parks providing access to Kings Wood in Kent, managed by Forestry England. The main car park is often located off the A251 near Challock, or other access points may be found on minor roads bordering the wood. These provide good access to the main trails and sculpture routes. They can get busy, especially at weekends and during bluebell season, for this popular Kent woodland. Do not park on verges if car parks are full.

The terrain in Kings Wood, Kent, consists of woodland paths and forest tracks which can be uneven, muddy (especially after rain and in winter months), and feature exposed tree roots and flint stones. There are some gentle to moderate undulations and hills throughout the woods. Sturdy, waterproof footwear is highly recommended for navigating this Kent woodland comfortably and safely, particularly during wetter seasons. Main trails are often well-maintained gravel or compacted earth.
