Terrain: A delightful and generally flat walk. The paths are a mix of well-maintained compacted gravel tracks, natural earth paths through woodlands, and grassy sections. The terrain is largely flat, making for an easy stroll underfoot. However, paths, particularly in wooded sections or after rain, can be muddy and prone to puddles. Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes are recommended, and waterproof footwear is advisable.
Accessibility: The main paths around the mere and near the visitor centre are generally wide, flat, and on a firm surface, offering good accessibility for pushchairs and many wheelchairs. Dogs are welcome throughout much of the Mere's perimeter.
