This is a scenic riverside walk following the Thames Path from Maidenhead towards Windsor. The route stays close to the River Thames, passing under Brunel's railway bridge and continuing through a mix of town-edge stretches, open meadows and wider riverside green space. As you near Windsor, there are some lovely views across the meadows towards Windsor Castle.
The walking is currently noted as largely flat and easy-going, with towpath sections and broader grassy areas along the way. There are no stiles currently noted for this route, which may make it a simpler option for many dogs and owners. Off-lead walking is noted as generally permitted, but please follow local signs and keep dogs close where needed, especially near the river, other path users and any busier sections approaching Windsor.
No livestock is currently noted for this route. Toilets are available, and there is a pub nearby for a stop at the end of the walk. If you are planning to walk one way, Windsor has good onward connections, which can help with returning to Maidenhead.
