Parking: There is a large car park at Blaise Castle Estate, accessible from Kings Weston Road. It can get very busy, especially on weekends, sunny days, and during school holidays. Arriving earlier or later in the day is highly recommended.
- Distance:
- 6.90 miles
- Time:
- 3.00 hours
- Difficulty:
- Moderate
- Terrain:
Terrain: A wonderfully varied and often undulating landscape. Blaise Castle Estate features a mix of wide, well-maintained gravel paths, natural earth paths through extensive woodlands, and steeper trails descending into a dramatic gorge with a river. Expect paths to be muddy and prone to puddles, particularly after rain or in wetter seasons, especially in wooded areas and the gorge. Sturdy, comfortable, and waterproof walking boots with good grip are highly recommended for both you and your dog.
Accessibility: While some of the main paths near the car park and visitor areas are relatively wide and firm, many of the most scenic trails (especially those leading to the castle folly or into the gorge) are uneven, with steep gradients, steps, and potential for deep mud. This makes them less suitable for those with significant mobility issues or standard pushchairs.- Facilities:
