While the elevation changes are very mild, the terrain itself is the main challenge here. Bodmin Moor and its surrounding fields are famously wet. The grassy paths and field crossings on this loop can become incredibly boggy, muddy, and flooded, especially in the winter months or after heavy rain. Highly waterproof walking boots or wellies are absolutely essential for this route.
