This walk requires proper footwear. The moorland paths are notoriously boggy and wet, even in the summer months, and the gorse can be thick. The coastal section is rocky and involves some steep, uneven ascents and descents. Waterproof hiking boots are essential. Navigation can also be tricky if the sea mist (the 'mizzle') rolls in, so keeping track of the path is important.

Livestock & Wildlife: This is a wild environment with free-roaming cattle, ponies, and ground-nesting birds on the moors. It is highly recommended (and often required) to keep your dog on a lead across the moorland.
-
Cliffs: The return section along the South West Coast Path features sheer, unfenced drops. Dogs must be kept on a lead for their safety.
-
Open Space: Despite the need for leads, it's a wonderfully wild and sensory-rich environment for an active dog.
