There is a dedicated free car park at Shipley Bridge, located at the end of a minor road leading from South Brent, which is the main starting point for walks to the River Avon Dam on Dartmoor in Devon. This car park can get very busy, especially on sunny weekends and holidays, as it's a popular access point to southern Dartmoor. Arrive early for the best chance of a space. Toilet facilities are sometimes available at Shipley Bridge. This Devon moorland access point is well-known.
