Terrain: A truly dramatic and invigorating walk through an impressive glaciated valley. Paths are a mix of grassy trails, natural earth paths, and rocky sections, particularly as you ascend. The terrain is hilly and uneven, featuring a steep climb towards Loch Skeen. The landscape is open moorland, so expect paths to be wet and boggy in places, especially after rain or in wetter seasons. Sturdy, comfortable, and waterproof hiking boots with excellent grip are absolutely essential for both you and your dog.
Accessibility: Due to the steep climb, uneven and often boggy terrain, and rocky sections, this walk is not suitable for those with mobility issues or standard pushchairs. It requires a good level of fitness and sure-footedness. There are no facilities at the car park or on the walk itself.- Get Directions:
