- Dog Notes:
Anglesey Abbey is a dog-friendly National Trust property. Dogs are very welcome throughout much of the estate, but MUST be kept on a lead at all times. This rule is crucial to protect the sensitive plant collections (even in areas adjacent to formal gardens), ensure the peaceful enjoyment of all visitors, and for wildlife management. Dogs are generally not permitted inside the historic house, gift shop, or the formal, highly cultivated gardens (such as the Winter Garden or Herbaceous Borders), unless they are assistance dogs. However, they are typically allowed on the main paths around the house exterior and in the wider parkland and woodland trails. Water bowls are often provided near the visitor facilities.

How to get there
6 miles north-east of Cambridge on B1102. Signposted from A14, junction 35.
Walk
1. From the start point at the car park, turn left to head north along the path leaving the Visitor Centre. Follow the footpath as it follows round the left side of the car park, keeping the hedge to your left. Go between the hedges, to then head toward a tennis court and past some allotments.
2. Take a left at a meeting of paths to follow a narrow path to Lode Mill. Walk on past the mill and keep straight ahead, crossing over the wooden bridge. Follow on the signed path in the Quy Fen direction, along the path on the field edge. Continue on the path, heading on next to the woodland. Take a right at the next point of choice and continue on to reach the edge of trees where you will meet a track, a former railway line.
3. Turn right onto the former railway line on through a large field, and continue to the corner and a metal gate. Instead of heading through the gate, take a right onto the edge path of the field. Follow the path back to the bridge by Lode Mill.
4. Take a left and cross the bridge, then left down the lane into Lode Village. Keep a look out for a public footpath sign to your right and follow the narrow alleyway, toward some allotments. Pass on by these then take a right, then a left to take the path back to the Visitor Centre and car park.
