The Walk

A scenic country park in Leicester.

Walk

1 From the car park take a sharp left onto the track. Head through the gateway and take the main route uphill, with the parks wall to your left.

2 Upon reaching a large wooden gate, take a right. Head on uphill until you reach the hilltop war memorial. Continue on the grass track to the top, then head round to the right of the walled plantation to reach Old John Tower.

3 Take a right, heading downward, to reach a small circular pond. Of the three paths, take the left one and continue on this to reach a track around a walled plantation. Turn left and walk along for about 100 metres.

4 Head straight on and the path will drop gradually down to reach the park wall, where you should continue downhill on a tarmac path.

5 Take the path to the right after another 100 metres. This path heads across the middle section of Bradgate Park. Continue on to the end and then take a right to reach the visitor centre.

6 Continue on the tarmac path past the ruins of the house and the restored chapel. Continue on the path, back up to the car park where the walk started.
