Terrain: A varied country park with a mix of well-surfaced paths (tarmac or compacted stone, good for accessibility, especially near the visitor centre and along some riverside sections), and more natural earth or gravel paths through woodland and meadows. The park follows the River Tame valley, so while some paths are flat, others involve moderate slopes and climbs up the valley sides. Can be muddy and uneven on unsurfaced paths after rain.

Dog Considerations:
- Leads: Reddish Vale Country Park is extremely popular for dog walking. There are extensive areas suitable for off-lead exercise, including woodlands and meadows, provided dogs are kept under good control and responsive to recall. Dogs should be on leads near the Visitor Centre, car parks, picnic areas, children's play areas, the small animal collection (if present), and when approaching other park users, especially horses on bridleways.
- Water: The River Tame flows through the park, offering many opportunities for dogs to paddle and drink. Assess water quality and currents. Some ponds also exist. Carry fresh water too.
- Wildlife & Livestock: The park supports diverse wildlife, including kingfishers along the river, woodland birds, and squirrels. Horses are common on bridleways. Sometimes cattle may graze in fenced conservation areas. Ensure dogs do not chase or disturb wildlife or livestock.
- Dog Bins: Plentifully available throughout the park, especially near main paths, entrances, and facilities.
- Hazards: River (can be fast-flowing after rain, steep banks in places). Horses on bridleways (ensure dogs are calm and give way). Cyclists on shared paths. Can be very busy with other dogs and people. Some steep paths can be slippery.
