Terrain: A truly beautiful and tranquil ancient woodland. Paths are primarily natural earth and leaf litter, with numerous exposed tree roots and some compacted tracks. The terrain is gently to moderately undulating, with a total ascent of 51m (167ft) over the loop, making for an engaging but manageable walk. Expect paths to be very muddy and potentially boggy in places, especially after rain or during wetter seasons. Sturdy, comfortable, and waterproof hiking boots with good grip are essential for both you and your dog.
Accessibility: Due to the natural, uneven surfaces, numerous exposed tree roots, undulating terrain, and potential for deep mud, Northaw Great Wood is generally not suitable for those with significant mobility issues or standard pushchairs.- Get Directions:
