The terrain for the Deacon Hill walk from Pegsdon, Bedfordshire, includes very steep, grassy chalk paths during the ascent and descent of the escarpment. These paths can be uneven and become extremely slippery when wet or frosty due to the chalk. The hilltop and ridges are open grassland. Sturdy footwear with excellent grip is essential for safely navigating the slopes of this Bedfordshire hill. Expect stiles on some routes.
