Dog Considerations:
- Leads: Hucking Estate is a fantastic place for dog walking. Off-lead exercise is common throughout much of the woodland, provided dogs are kept under good control, responsive to recall, and do not worry wildlife (including deer and ground-nesting birds) or interfere with other visitors (including horse riders on designated bridleways).
- Water: Natural water sources like ponds or streams may be limited and their quality variable. It's advisable to carry fresh water for your dog.
- Wildlife: The estate is rich in wildlife, including deer, badgers, dormice, and numerous bird species. Ensure dogs do not chase or harass wildlife. Be particularly mindful during bird nesting season (spring/early summer).
- Dog Bins: Unlikely to be present within the deeper woodland. May be available at the main car park. Please be prepared to take all dog waste home.
- Hazards: Uneven paths, tree roots, flinty sections (can be sharp), muddy and slippery slopes. Horse riders on bridleways. Some areas can be remote.
