- Dog Notes:
The North Downs Way in Kent offers excellent and stimulating walking for energetic dogs. However, due to the frequent presence of grazing livestock (sheep and cattle are common on the downs and in fields crossed by the path), dogs MUST be kept on leads and under close control in many areas. Be mindful of steep drops from escarpments and wildlife in woodlands (deer, badgers). Please clean up after your dog. Many pubs along the route in Kent villages are dog-friendly, providing welcome refreshment stops. Remember to carry water for your dog, as sources can be scarce on the open downs of Kent.
