Terrain: Very varied and challenging. Steep, often cobbled or rocky paths lead up to Rivington Pike itself. The Terraced Gardens involve many stone steps, uneven paths, and steep slopes. Woodland paths can be muddy and rooty. Paths around the reservoirs are generally flatter and better surfaced. Good sturdy footwear is essential.
