Walk Highlights

Location:
Hartlepool
Postcode:
TS25 2DX
Parking:

There is ample public parking available in Seaton Carew, including large, paid car parks along the seafront and near the Esplanade. Fees apply (Pay & Display), so be prepared. These car parks can get very busy, especially on sunny days and during peak season.

Distance:
2.50 miles
Time:
1.00 hours
Difficulty:
Moderate
Terrain:

Terrain: A wild and expansive coastal landscape. Paths traverse fragile sand dunes, mown grassland, and areas of scrub behind the beach. Access to the adjacent vast sandy beach is also possible. Expect paths through the dunes and grassland to be soft, sandy, or grassy, and potentially muddy/wet in low-lying sections, particularly after rain. The beach itself is firm sand at low tide but soft closer to the dunes. The terrain is generally flat, with gentle undulations over the dunes. Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes are recommended, and waterproof footwear if exploring wet areas.

Accessibility: Access to the beach and the main paths through the dunes from Seaton Carew seafront is generally good, but navigating soft sand or uneven dune paths can be challenging for those with mobility issues or pushchairs. The specific trails within the NNR itself might be less developed than formal parks.
