Terrain: A wonderfully varied and generally flat to gently undulating landscape. The main paths around the lake are wide, well-maintained (tarmac or compacted gravel). There are also grassy areas in the parkland, and some narrower, more natural earth paths through woodland sections. Paths can become muddy and prone to puddles, particularly after rain or in wetter seasons, especially in wooded areas or on less-used grassy tracks. Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Accessibility: The main paths around the lake and leading to the visitor centre are wide, flat, and well-surfaced, making them highly accessible for most users, including those with pushchairs and wheelchairs. Some of the informal grassy or woodland trails might be less even or prone to mud, making them less accessible.
