Terrain: A varied and often challenging landscape. Expect steep climbs and descents on grassy paths across open chalk grassland, as well as some natural earth paths through beautiful woodland sections. The terrain can be very uneven with exposed tree roots and rocks. Paths can become extremely muddy and slippery, particularly after rain, as the chalk soil turns slick. Sturdy, comfortable, and waterproof hiking boots with excellent grip are absolutely essential for both you and your dog.
Accessibility: Due to the very steep slopes, uneven grassy paths, and potential for deep mud, this walk is not suitable for those with significant mobility issues or pushchairs beyond the immediate car park viewpoint. It requires a good level of fitness and sure-footedness.
