Porth Swtan, also known as Church Bay, is a coastal walk on the west side of Anglesey with an unspoilt beach, rocky edges and a more remote feel than some of the island’s busier spots. The beach is reached from the village and the approach is currently noted as steep, so take care if you are walking with older dogs, very small dogs or in wet conditions.
This is a good option if you enjoy sea views, a beach and a bit of local character in one outing. The area is also known for Swtan, a restored traditional cottage near Church Bay, which adds some extra interest if you want to combine a dog walk with a short look around the heritage setting nearby.
Toilets, a café, poo bins and parking are all noted in the area, which can make this a practical stop for a shorter seaside walk. No livestock is currently noted for this route. Please follow local signs and keep dogs close where needed. Access details may vary, so it is worth checking locally before setting off.
