Dog Considerations:
- Leads: Tegg's Nose is very popular with dog walkers. Off-lead exercise is common on the open heathland and wider paths, provided dogs are kept under good control, responsive to recall, and do not cause a nuisance to other visitors or disturb wildlife/livestock (sheep often graze on and around Tegg's Nose). Dogs should be on leads near the visitor centre, cafe, car park, and on very steep or narrow paths with drops.
- Water: Some small pools or boggy areas may exist, but it's best to carry fresh water for your dog, especially if climbing to the summit. A water bowl may be outside the cafe.
- Wildlife & Livestock: Sheep graze freely across Tegg's Nose and the surrounding moorland. Also, upland birds (e.g., skylark, meadow pipit). Ensure dogs do not chase or worry any animals.
- Dog Bins: Usually available at the main car park and near the visitor centre.
- Hazards: Steep drops from quarry edges and summit paths (some fenced, some not). Loose rocks and uneven paths. Sheep. Can be very windy and exposed on the summit. Popular spot, so many other dogs/people.
