- Terrain:
This walk is largely off-road. The tracks through Crenver and Clowance Woods are dirt and earth, meaning they get exceptionally boggy, rooty, and slippery in the winter months or after heavy rain. The return tracks through the estate are generally better surfaced. A good pair of waterproof walking boots (or wellies!) is highly recommended.

The Woodlands: Crenver Grove and Clowance Wood are absolutely fantastic for dogs. They offer miles of shaded, off-lead sniffing and running opportunities along the main tracks.
-
Estate Grounds: While walking back through the Clowance Estate, it is best to keep your dog on a lead out of respect for the resort guests and the local wildlife (like swans and ducks on the estate lakes).
-
Hazards: Look closely at your map and you'll see "Mine (dis)" and "Shafts (dis)" scattered throughout the woods and surrounding fields. It is highly recommended to stick to the established woodland paths and not let your dog roam deep into the undergrowth, as historic mine workings can be unstable or hidden.
