This route offers a true mixed bag of Cornish terrain. Expect a combination of sheltered woodland paths, quiet tarmac lanes, grassy field crossings, and rocky, heather-clad moorland tracks. The ascent up Tregonning Hill is fairly steep and the paths can be uneven and peppered with granite loose stones. In the wetter months, the field crossings and lower tracks around the Godolphin Estate can become deeply bogged and muddy. A sturdy, waterproof pair of walking boots is highly recommended year-round.
