This route features a real mix. You have paved village lanes, dirt farm tracks, grassy field boundaries, and uneven forestry paths. Because the river valley is so deep and sheltered, the woodland tracks are highly prone to becoming muddy, boggy, and slippery, especially during winter or after rain. Sturdy, waterproof hiking boots are highly recommended.
