- Terrain:
This route features a wonderfully varied mix of terrain. You'll begin on town pavements before transitioning to grassy coastal paths, sandy beaches, and potentially soft sand dunes. The path around Pentire Headland is relatively well-trodden but can be uneven. The stretch along the Gannel Estuary is highly dependent on the tide; at low tide, it can be muddy and slippery underfoot. A sturdy, waterproof pair of walking boots is highly recommended to handle the transition from damp beach sand to muddy estuary banks.
