There are several car parks providing access to Plymbridge Woods and the Plym Valley Trail in Devon. The main National Trust car park is at Plymbridge itself (charges may apply, free for NT members). Other smaller car parks or lay-bys exist at different access points along the Plym Valley, such as near Bickleigh Vale or Coypool (closer to Plymouth). These provide good starting points for various walks. The Plymbridge car park can get very busy, especially at weekends, for this popular Devon spot.

The terrain in Plymbridge Woods, Devon, is varied. The main Plym Valley Trail is well-surfaced (tarmac or compacted gravel) and largely flat, making it very accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Woodland paths leading off the main trail can be steep, uneven, muddy, rooty, and rocky in places, especially those climbing the valley sides. Sturdy footwear is essential for exploring all areas of this Devon woodland.
