A short, circular dog friendly walk up to the distinctive landmark on Hartshead Pike. Visible from many miles around, the summit overlooks Ashton-under-Lyne, Mossley, Saddleworth, Lees and Oldham. On a clear day, you can experience views of Manchester, Chesire and Snowdonia in Wales.

Useful Information
How to get there: From Ashton-under-Lyne, take the A670 Mossley Road. You want to take a left up a small uphill road, Broadcarr Lane. Follow this up until you reach a point you can park in a roadside layby.

The Walk

Walk
1 From the layby, follow the road down and to the left, passing by the houses. You will see the tower on Hartshead Pike, head to the left walk on the lane.
2 Turn right to head toward the tower, then follow the path past the tower heading south.
3 Take a right to head north and then veer right onto the track.
4 Head right then left to head back on the track to the houses you passed by at the start of the walk, and back to the layby.
