Dog Considerations:
- Leads: Strinesdale is a popular local country park. On the main busy paths around the reservoirs, especially near the car park, any play areas, or when anglers are present, it's advisable to keep dogs on leads or under very close control. In quieter woodland or meadow areas away from the main reservoir paths, off-lead exercise may be possible for well-behaved dogs with good recall, but always be mindful of other park users and wildlife.
- Water: The reservoirs themselves. Dogs sometimes paddle at accessible edges, but be mindful of fishing, deep water, steep banks, and water quality (check for algae signs in summer). Small streams also flow into the reservoirs. Carry fresh water.
- Wildlife: Abundant waterfowl on the reservoirs (ducks, geese, swans). The surrounding woodlands and meadows support birds, squirrels. Ensure dogs do not chase or disturb wildlife.
- Dog Bins: Usually well-provided, especially around the main car park and along the popular reservoir paths.
- Hazards: Reservoirs (deep water). Anglers' lines. Can be busy with families and other dogs. Some paths can be muddy and slippery.
