Walk
1. From the car park, walk to the furthest end and take the path which runs parallel with the road and then take the main path with the river being on your left. Follow the path, keeping the river on your left, until it eventually closes to next to the river and crosses using a bridge. Turn right straight after crossing the river and follow the path with Grasmere Lake to your right. When the path forks, take the right hand path and follow all the way along Grasmere Lake until the path bends to the left.
2. After the bend to the left, follow the path to join up to the road "Red Bank". Follow on this road as it heads south-east. Take a left path from the road to head back towards Grasmere Lake and briefly join up where you walked before along the shoreline of the lake.
3. This time, do not cross back over the footbridge but instead continue on the path, keeping the river to your left. Continue walking northwards until you reach another footbridge, taking you back across the river. Take the path to the right after crossing the river and follow the path back up to the car park and start point of the walk.
