Terrain: A truly invigorating and challenging walk. The paths are a mix of well-defined, stony, and rocky trails as you ascend Loughrigg Fell. The terrain is hilly and uneven, with a continuous, sometimes steep, climb. The descent towards Rydal Cave can also be rocky and uneven. Expect paths to be muddy and boggy in places, especially after rain. Sturdy, comfortable, and waterproof hiking boots with excellent ankle support and superb grip are absolutely essential for both you and your dog.
Accessibility: Due to the strenuous climb, rocky and uneven paths, and potential for deep mud, this walk is not suitable for those with mobility issues or pushchairs. It requires a good level of fitness.- Get Directions:
