The terrain for the Pendle Hill walk in Lancashire is challenging and strenuous. Expect very steep, often stone-pitched or eroded grassy paths during the ascent and descent. The summit plateau is open moorland with peaty and boggy sections, which can be very wet underfoot. The hill is very exposed to rapidly changing weather. Strong, sturdy, waterproof mountain boots are essential, as are full waterproofs, map, compass/GPS, and emergency supplies for this Lancashire peak.
