Formby Woods and Beach is a short easy walk through one of Merseyside’s best-known coastal settings, where pinewoods and sand dunes lead out to a wide sandy beach. Even on a route of around 0.88 miles, you get a good mix of woodland and seaside scenery, with signposted access through the woods and dunes and plenty to interest dogs that enjoy varied surroundings.
Underfoot, expect a change in terrain as you go, with firmer woodland paths giving way to uneven sandy tracks and softer sand nearer the beach. There are no stiles currently noted for this route.
