Terrain: A fascinating and wonderfully varied landscape, transformed from a former industrial site (coal mining, iron works) into a vibrant country park. Paths are a mix of wide, compacted earth and gravel tracks, and narrower, more natural woodland trails. The terrain is gently undulating, with some short, moderate slopes as you navigate the contours of the reclaimed land. Expect paths to be muddy and prone to puddles, especially after rain or in wetter seasons. Sturdy, comfortable, waterproof walking shoes or boots are highly recommended.
Accessibility: While some of the main tracks are relatively wide and flat, many paths at Granville Country Park are uneven, with natural surfaces, roots, and potential for mud. The topography around the former mining areas can also be a bit challenging. This makes some areas less suitable for those with significant mobility issues or pushchairs.

Dog-Friendliness: Granville Country Park offers a unique, intriguing, and very dog-friendly walk, blending industrial heritage with thriving nature! Dogs are welcome throughout much of the park, providing ample opportunity for both on-lead strolling and responsible off-lead exploration. Dogs will love the diverse scents of woodland, grassland, and the remnants of the past. However, it is crucial to be highly mindful of its status as a reclaimed site, the presence of sensitive wildlife, and potential hidden hazards from its industrial past (e.g., steep drops, water bodies). Always ensure your dog is under control.
